Home to many civilizations over the centuries, from the Hittites to the Lydians, Persians and Romans, İzmir is described by Victor Hugo as ‘a city of princesses’ and by Herodotus as ‘the city with the best climate under the most beautiful sky’.

It is strategically located, providing easy access to countries with a combined population of 1.6 billion, a national income of 26 trillion dollars, and a trade volume of 22.5 trillion dollars.

With a strong transport infrastructure, including an airport with a capacity of 30 million passengers and direct flights to 32 countries and 57 destinations via 30 different airlines, it is Türkiye's gateway to the West.

With a population of 4.5 million, it is the third largest city in the country. With 37% of its population under the age of 30, it is a young, dynamic, social, modern, pleasant city to live in and a women-friendly city.

Beyond its sectoral diversity, spanning agriculture, trade, tourism, and industry, approximately one-fourth of the national income generated in İzmir is contributed by the industrial sector. Roughly 58.6% of the products manufactured in the country are produced in İzmir.

With approximately 6,500 companies investing in 53 different industrial sectors, İzmir is Türkiye’s second largest industrial city after İstanbul. The main industrial sectors include food and beverages, textiles, iron and steel, petrochemicals, machinery and automotive supply industries. İzmir, a major producer, exports to over 200 countries and imports from approximately 180 countries. With its strong foreign trade volume, it ranks second among Türkiye's top exporting provinces and first on the list of net exporters. İzmir is Türkiye’s largest, most modern and newest exhibition centre and an international exhibition and conference city. Some of these include: Agroexpo Fair, IF Wedding Fair, International Marble Fair and İzmir International Fair and İzmir Tourism Fair.

With the Kemalpaşa Logistics Centre nearing completion, 16 ports, 6 active marinas and 18 marinas under construction, İzmir is transforming its port city status into a
logistics hub. It holds great potential for many sectors, including solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, IT services, chemistry, aviation, biotechnology,  industrial machinery, health, agricultural food, and tourism. It has a qualified young workforce with 10 universities and 5 Technology Development Zones.

With its 16 Organized Industrial Zones equipped with advanced infrastructure and high-tech facilities, along with 3 active Free Zones, İzmir offers significant opportunities for investors.

Ranked as one of Europe's best and brightest investment destinations by FDI-Intelligence in 2022, 2023 and 2024, İzmir is also ranked second in terms of cost in the same study for 2025.

We invite you to take advantage of the opportunities offered by İzmir, which has been a destination for investment from past to present, and to enjoy a pleasant life in İzmir.
