Member companies of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry are included in 53 different professional groups. The Professional Committees, which consist of 271 company representatives in total and constitute the main pillar of the Chamber's work as a consultative body, meet at least once a month to make examinations related to their professions and to make proposals to the Board of Directors to discuss the measures they deem useful and necessary. The Directorate of Business Development and Professional Committees organizes these committee meetings where sectoral problems are identified and solutions are sought, acts as a rapporteur at these meetings, informs the committee about the issues included in the agenda and helps to make decisions in accordance with the laws and relevant legislation. It organizes the Joint Meetings of the Professional Committees held twice a year. It ensures the relationship of the committees with the Chamber organization and follows the execution of the transactions to be carried out in accordance with the committee decisions. It provides up-to-date information to its members by following the innovations and developments in the sector and expands cooperation opportunities.
In order to support industrial and trade activities in the region, it identifies sectoral needs; researches grant calls, develops projects funded from national and international sources (European Business Network, IKGPRO, TEBD, etc.) in order to increase the competitiveness of members in foreign markets and to benefit from potential opportunities. In this context, it coordinates the application and execution processes of these projects (training and seminars, information meetings, foreign visits, technical trips, etc.) and provides the necessary resources.
Provides support to the Working Groups of the Board of Directors established by the Board of Directors of the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry in order to expand the social outreach of EBSO and to establish supportive and developmental relationship networks between industrialists, public, local government, universities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and representatives of other relevant institutions and organizations. In this context, it acts as the rapporteur of the “Food, Technical Education, University-Industry Coordination Board, Protocol Executive Board and Applications of Industrial Products in Contracting Works” Working Groups and follows up the decisions taken.
It makes plans, organizations and all other transactions regarding all training subjects to be given under the roof of EBSO SME SCHOOL.
It coordinates the activities of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey on the development of young entrepreneurship in the province and carries out the administrative work and transactions of the Izmir Provincial Board and the Provincial Executive Committee.
It carries out the processes of vocational qualification examination and certification services carried out by TOBB MEYBEM Vocational Qualification and Certification Centers Inc. in cooperation with Chambers and Commodity Exchanges in 81 provinces and 160 districts in Izmir. It provides consultancy services in vocational qualification certification processes, especially in hazardous and very hazardous occupations, processes applications into the system and transmits them to TOBB MEYBEM for exam organization.
Provides consultancy on application processes related to patents, trademarks, designs, geographical indications and other industrial property rights in cooperation with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
